Intensive In-Home (IIH) services will be utilized for children between the ages of 5-20. IIH will be utilized to help improve family functioning, and address concerns related to the child’s impairments which places them at risk of out-of-home placement. IIH will focus on improving family dynamics (through weekly family sessions), provide modeling (to help parents learn how to better manage the child’s behavior), do psychoeducation in the home to help both the parents and child better understand the dynamics that are currently placing the child at risk of out-of-home placement or if the child is returning home from an out of home setting the education will work on ways to now keep the child in the home and prevent further disruption.
Eligibility Criteria
They must meet at least 2 of the following:
Have difficulty in establishing or maintaining normal interpersonal relationships to such a degree that they are at risk of hospitalization or out-of-home placement
Exhibit such inappropriate behavior that documents repeated interventions by mental health, social services, or judicial system resulting in being at risk for out of home placement.
Exhibit difficulty in cognitive ability such that they are unable to recognize personal danger or recognize significantly inappropriate social behavior resulting in being at risk of out of home placement.
They must meet at least 1 of the following:
Services that are far more intensive than outpatient clinical care are required to stabilize the individual in the family situation
The individual’s residence as the setting for services is more likely to be successful than a clinic
